Interview and Presentation at Real-Time 2010 in Paris, France with Jean-Baptiste Lanfrey from The Mathworks. Discussing real-time simulation of SimScape models.
MathWorks is the leading developer of mathematical computing software. MATLAB, the language of technical computing, is a programming environment for algorithm development, data analysis, visualization, and numeric computation. Simulink is a graphical environment for simulation and Model-Based Design of multidomain dynamic and embedded systems. Engineers and scientists worldwide rely on these product families to accelerate the pace of discovery, innovation, and development in automotive, aerospace, electronics, financial services, biotech-pharmaceutical, and other industries. MathWorks products are also fundamental teaching and research tools in the world's universities and learning institutions.
The following presentation, “Real-Time Simulation of Simscape Models” conducted at Real-Time 2010 by Jean-Baptiste Lanfrey of MathWorks, discusses the uses and benefits of Real-Time Simulation, an overview of the Simscape family of products and the challenges and techniques involved in configuring Simscape models for use in a Real-Time Simulation environment.
Simscape™ software extends MathWorks’ Simulink® environment for multidomain simulation and Model-Based Design for dynamic and embedded systems with tools for modeling and simulating multidomain physical systems, such as those with mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, thermal, electrical, and electromagnetic components. Unlike other Simulink blocks, which represent mathematical operations or operate on signals, Simscape blocks represent physical components or relationships directly. With Simscape blocks, you build a model of a system just as you would assemble a physical system.
Simscape software runs within the Simulink environment and interfaces seamlessly with the rest of Simulink product family and with MathWorks’ MATLAB® technical computing environment.
