ScopeView

Waveform Visualisation and Analysis Software

ScopeView is a standalone software, running on Windows OS, used to display signals and waveforms acquired from various applications, data acquisition systems or field equipments. It is the ideal tool for engineers who need to perform mathematical calculations, signal processing, and produce reports. ScopeView is tightly integrated with eMEGAsim and eDRIVEsim simulators and allows signals visualization acquired from real-time and off-line simulation and also serves as an analog and digital oscilloscope. Its ease of use lets the user focus on the results and not on the work of making complex scripts to view the data. All operations are done with the mouse and the learning curve is very short. This software was developed by Hydro-Quebec research institute (IREQ) over the last 30 years and is in constant evolution.

ScopeView possesses advanced mathematical post-processing capabilities with a complete built-in library of functions. Furthermore, ScopeView uses the principle of "templates" which gives the user the possibility to setup the waveform and mathematical operations once and then save this work as a template for the next test sequence or analysis. It is a great time saver.

ScopeView can read data from different applications such as MATLAB, EMTP-RV, COMTRADE and more file formats but also with the eDRIVEsim and eMEGAsim OPAL-RT’s real-time simulators. This capability allows users to manipulate data dynamically during real-time simulation or after test sequences. Moreover, Scopeview can also save data and reports in many file formats such as PDF, COMTRADE and JPEG. Scopeview is completely independent from the simulation tools or any equipments that produce the waveform data.

All engineer who must work with mathematical data and waveforms should have a tool such as ScopeView.

Characteristics

  • Visualization and post-processing of data originating from different sources such as EMTP-RV, MATLAB, COMTRADE and CSV files. Scopeview can also handle waveforms generated by SimPowerSystems of the Mathworks inc. and by both eMEGAsim and eDRIVEsim real-time digital simulators marketed by OPAL-RT Technologies.
  • Multi-page and multi-column capabilities.
  • Graphical manipulation of the chart including zoom, superimposition, tracking cursors and interactive displacement of graphs.
  • Cursors between abscissa values to interactively display min, max, average and RMS values.
  • Built-in advanced function editor for simple mathematical operation to more complex functions such as discrete Fourier transform, harmonics analysis and so on.
  • Ability to create, save and load template associated to a customized session of results displaying and mathematical post-processing.
  • Page and graph properties can be changed by right-clicking on the chart.
  • Written notes can be added in the graph for additional explanation.
  • Export the data or print report to various file formats such as MATLAB, COMTRADE, PDF, JPEG and EPS. The created charts can be copied and printed into any text editors or office suite such as Microsoft Office.
