RT-LAB Crashes when trying to open it from the Metacontroller (refer to the log in workspace\.metadata)

Question:

RT-LAB had been working well, but it suddenly fails to open all the times with an error as shown in the attached screenshot.

Answer:

This behaviour has been reported by a few users of RT-LAB 10.0.x. The problem is caused by the <.snap> file in this folder C:\OPAL-RT\RT-LAB10.0.3\workspace\.metadata\.plugins\org.eclipse.core.resources. This file is created by Eclipse, the tool used to develop the new RT-LAB GUI, and only records the historical performance at low level of RT-LAB software. When it happens to this kind of error, it means there was some corrupted information stored in this file.

If you delete this file, RT-LAB will be back to normal and you should not lost your workspace information.

Key Words:

metadata; workspace
