Console frozen after "Write to file" feature is enabled
Question:
When I enable the "Write to file" feature in the Probe Control, the console appears to be frozen. Does the simulation crash? I have several OpComm blocks (acquisition groups) in the console. I enable only "Write to file" for one of them.
Answer:
The simulation does not crash in this case. When the "Write to file" feature is enabled for one of the acquisition group, the data is no longer available in the console for that particular acquisition group. In the Probe Control panel, there is an option to block the console acquisition in case there is no data for one of the acquisition group. If this option is checked, the console will be frozen if any acquisition group misses data.
It is recommended that the option for block console should be unchecked, when the write to file is enabled. The Probe Control setting will look like in the below picture. Those settings can be changed at any time during the execution of real-time simulation.
