Fuel-cell, hybrid-electric vehicle
This model simulates a fuel-cell hybrid electric vehicle, and demonstrates the advantages of using Time-Stamped Bridges and ARTEMIS to obtain accurate simulation of dc/dc converter in high frequency operation.
The example of the fuel-cell, hybrid-electric vehicle is composed of a battery, a fuel cell (modeled as a voltage source), a DC-DC converter, and a permanent magnet motor drive[4][5][6][7]. In this system, the DC-DC converter controls the power sharing between the battery and the fuel cell. The permanent magnet motor is controlled by the PWM inverter.
This demo runs in two CPUs: one implements a DC-DC converter controller with analog inputs and PWM outputs; and the other implements the fuel-cell, hybrid-electric vehicle models.
This model can be used to study and validate various phenomena, such as characteristics of DC-DC converter, battery, fuel cell, permanent magnetic synchronous motor (PMSM) drive, and the PMSM controller. Other phenomena of interest, such as dc bus fault, motor side ac fault, converter misfire and dead time, can be studied with this model.
